We are delighted that you are interested in applying for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development (ILSPSD)!

Familiarising yourself with the ILSPSD entry requirements will enable you to determine whether you meet the criteria to successfully apply for the programme. When applying for the tracks of our partner universities for Semester 3, please always check their sometimes deviating entry requirements.

To fill out the application form successfully, you need to upload several documents. You will find it much easier to fill in the form if you gather all documents in advance.
Please note that all documents and certificates need to be uploaded in English or if the original was not issued in English, it must be translated into English by a certified English translator. The original documents of your degree certificate, language certificate etc. must be shown in the original version at enrolment stage.
Applicants do not require their documents (including translations) to be apostilled. Translations from an official translator are accepted, as long as they contain the following information:
You need to upload the following documents:
Valid passport or ID card (in colour) indicating nationality
e.g. High School Diploma, Baccalauréat Général, Abitur
Diploma (if you already completed your undergraduate studies) or (if you’re still finishing your undergraduate studies) up-to-date transcript of records of your degree issuing university of your first university degree stating that you will be able to finish your degree in the year of the start of your ILSPSD studies and will be able to hand in the official degree certificate by 31 August of that year.
If applicable: diplomas or transcripts of records of additional studies you are currently pursuing, have completed, or have undertaken beyond your first university degree.
Personal statement of less than 1,000 words, including your motivation for choosing the ILSPSD programme, why you consider yourself a suitable candidate, your research interests and placement/practice aims as well as your preferred study track for Semester 3 and the reasons for your choice.
Tips for an excellent personal statement:
Two reference letters written on official letterhead, including contact details for further inquiries, and dated within two years prior to the application submission. At least one letter must be academic; the second may be professional. Referees must indicate in their letters (“To whom it may concern”), how and where they got to know the applicant and why they are qualified and suitable to write a reference for the applicant.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)/Résumé in Europass format with your photo on the first page is mandatory for application purposes.
Test results, signed declaration of native language proficiency or certificate/transcript as proof of an undergraduate degree in English language indicating that English was the language of instruction (or in the case of the certificate or transcript not indicating English as the language of instruction an official letter of the degree issuing university stating so will be accepted, too).
If applicable because you selected the study track at the Université libre de Bruxelles: proof of French language proficiency by diploma/transcript of records for a degree awarded by a higher education institution located in a French-speaking community, or proof of French language skills at level B2 according to the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
